Trusteeship

Trusteeship

A Limited Opportunity. Each semester, only a few new trustees are initiatied through the presentation of an investment pitch. Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor the portfolio's performance and evaluate sector exposure.
  • Willingness to scrutinize every pitch thoroughly, but fairly.
  • Cast a vote; a two-thirds majority executes a trade

General Membership

Open to everyone. No application, no interview, no minimum commitment — walk in on any Thursday.

  • No prerequisites or econ background assumed.
  • Educational opportunity and career networking with alumni.
  • Serves as a pathway to trusteeship.

How a meeting works

Thursdays, 7:00 PM · about 90 minutes

  1. 1
    Portfolio update

The Comptroller walks through where the book stands; What moved since last week, and what does this tell us about macrotrends?

  2. 2
    Research report

A trustee presents an ongoing diligence report on a current position in the portfolio or on the watchlist.

  3. 3
    The pitch

A rigorously researched and probed thesis on a prospective mid-cap position.

  4. 4
    Q&A

Members and Trustees propose questions and engage in discussion.

  5. 5
    The vote

Trustees vote immediately after the pitch. A two-thirds majority executes the trade.

  6. 6
    Career workshop

After 8pm the meeting turns into a career session: resume reviews, recruiting timelines, and alumni Q&A.

No prep is required to attend — just show up and listen, unless you're presenting.
